Janet’s list, Senate’s fall?

FORMER Sen. Ping Lacson has warned the Senate might collapse if Janet Lim-Napoles’s affidavit naming current and former lawmakers involved in the P10-billion pork barrel scam was made public.

The people simply wanted to know who are in the list, but it’d be farfetched that the Senate would crumble by revealing those in the list.

Perhaps, they’d hate the Senate so much as the emperor Caligula, who made his horse a senator.

Lacson submitted his copy of the controversial Napoles list to the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee on Tuesday, May 13.

The 12 current and former senators included in the list are Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr., Jinggoy Estrada, Juan Ponce Enrile, Vicente "Tito" Sotto III, Loren Legarda, Aquilino "Koko" Pimentel III, Manny Villar, Alan Peter Cayetano, Robert Barbers, Francis Escudero, Gregorio Honasan and JV Ejercito.

Ping Lacson warned the Senate will collapse. Is it falling now?

Lacson's two-page list, published by rappler.com, also names Budget Secretary Florencio Abad, who was Batanes representative, and Agriculture Secretary Proceso Alcala.

Aside from the three senators indicted for plunder over the pork barrel scam (Revilla, Estrada and Enrile), the list also includes 68 current and former congressmen.

But Lacson’s list did not include Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago, one of the names he had confirmed during an interview with ABS-CBN on Monday night.

Was it because Santiago also has with her a list entitled, “Closeted gays or bisexuals in public service?”

The Senate Blue Ribbon Committee has issued a subpoena for Justice Secretary Leila de Lima’s list of lawmakers involved in the pork barrel scam.

Blue Ribbon Committee chairman Senator TG Guingona should compare Lacson’s list with that of the justice secretary.

Isn’t this going to be a “game of lists”?
