DANAO City expects a tripling of passengers bound for Camotes Island during the holy week.

This is why Jomalia Shipping Company will be available for 24 hours on Wednesday and Maundy Thursday, said Ramonette Mahinay, Danao City public information officer.

The shipping company will have a ferry traveling every hour.

The City Government is projecting that passengers going to Camotes Island will reach 8,800 while those coming from the island will reach 8,900.

Jomalia only has three ferry boats traveling to and from Camotes.

This is the second time that Jomalia was allowed to sail their ferry boats for 24 hours.

Mahinay encouraged passengers to call the Danao port for more information. Jomalia will not allow reservations.

Passengers who are not bringing their private vehicles to Camotes can park at the Danao Fish Port.

Parking fee is P20 for the first two hours and P5 for the succeeding hours.

As to the security, Mahinay said members of the Barangay Police Action Team and police intelligence operatives will be deployed outside and inside the port.
