PNoy appoints 38 prosecutors

THIRTY-SIX prosecutors were appointed by President Benigno Aquino III in the prosecution offices in the cities of Cebu, Mandaue, Lapu-Lapu, Talisay, Naga, Carcar and Bogo, and Cebu province.

Two prosecutors were also added to the Office of the Regional Prosecutor (ORP), which is based in Cebu City.

Aquino signed their appointments last Aug. 8.


Provincial Prosecutor Pepita Jane Petralba said she is proud of her personnel who got promoted.

The appointees were:

ORP: Alain Gallego (Prosecutor III) and Maria Luisa Ong (Prosecutor IV)
Office of the Provincial Prosecutor: Petronio Elesterio (Prosecutor IV), and Marvin dela Peña, Jasmin Despi, Ryan Gingoyon, Joe Noel Lawas, Rustom Presas, Jose Edwin Renegado, Nelia Sistoso, Samson Troy Layese, and Lolita Lomanta (Prosecutor III)
Office of the City Prosecutor (Bogo): Ivy Tejano (OIC, Prosecutor IV)
(Carcar): Anabelle Robles (Prosecutor IV)

Other appointees

(Cebu): Maria Luisa Ratilla (Prosecutor IV), and Rhodna Bacatan, Jose Nathaniel Andal, Rodulph Joseph Val Carrillo, Noel Cellona, Raul Cristoria, Rogelio del Prado, Jr., Anna Lou Cavada, Alex Gabud, Mario Ley Gidayawan, Simaco Labata, Liceria Rabillas, Ricky Jones Macabaya, Ernesto Narido, Jr., Aida Sanchez, Gandhi Truya, and Ruso Zaragoza (Prosecutor III)

(Lapu-Lapu): Jude Henritz Ycong and Shielamar Abadia (Prosecutor II)

(Mandaue): Felixberto Geromo (Prosecutor III), Wilfredo Pangandoyon, Jr. (Prosecutor II), and Gloria Era Antonino (Prosecutor I)
(Naga): Napoleon Alburo (OIC, Prosecutor IV)
(Talisay): Jenelyn Forrosuelo (Prosecutor II)
Aside from the 36, 12 other prosecutors were appointed in the provinces of Bohol and Negros Oriental. “This is a timely development...We need men and women of high integrity to man the frontlines of the Department. I am confident that we can achieve our vision for an expeditious administration of justice through honest and dedicated personnel,” said Justice Secretary Leila De Lima in a statement posted on the DOJ website.
