TWO multicabs, one of which was used as a public utility vehicle, were hit by a truck in Minglanilla, Cebu last Friday afternoon, wounding a driver and his five passengers.
The accident took place at 4 p.m. in the national highway of Barangay Tungha-an, where an Isuzu dropside truck driven by Ramon Tenebro, 46, encroached the other lane.
Police investigation conducted by SPO1 Florante Capangpangan, traffic investigator of Minglanilla Police Station, showed that the truck (GGZ-830) hit two multicabs traversing on the opposite direction.
The collision damaged a Suzuki multicab driven by Welmer Pasigan, 30, of Barangay Pakigne, Minglanilla.
It also hit a Suzuki passenger multicab (847-CCE) driven by Simeon Repunte Jr., 46, of Barangay Cantao-an, City of Naga.
The multicab plies the Basak-Minglanilla route.
The two vehicles were heading towards Naga when the accident happened.
Repunte and his five passengers sustained injuries.
The injured passengers were identified as Maribel Repunte, 35, the driver's wife; Henry Inot, 43; Roel Pareñas, 23, both from Barangay Tunghaan, Minglanilla; Jessone Quiño, 27, of Barangay Inayagan, City of Naga; and Danile Rosales, 16, of Barangay Bulacao, Talisay City.
All victims were brought to the hospital where they are now recuperating.
Tenebro of Barangay Sabang, Sibonga, on the other hand, was brought and detained in the Minglanilla Police Station.
He will face a complaint for reckless imprudence resulting to multiple injuries and damage to properties.
