A MAN was shot dead in a parking lot in Highway Pilipog, Cordova, Cebu last Thursday morning.

Victim John Mark Suicano, 21, was sitting in his trisikad with his two-year-old son around 11 a.m. when three men, who reportedly are his neighbors, shot him.

Cordova police identified the suspects as Merbert Diama, 23, and his brothers Marvin, 19, and Mark, 18.

PO3 Vilma Degamo of the Cordova Police Station said they are at love triangle as a possible motive.

Suicano’s live-in partner, Evelyn Casul, was reportedly Mark’s ex-girlfriend.

“Dumot naman gud ni (This was a grudge killing),” PO3 Degamo said in a phone interview.

Suicano was shot thrice: twice in the chest and once in the left part of his body.

Degamo said the victim and Merbert had argued minutes before the shooting.

Police later arrested Marvin, and are still looking for the other two siblings.

According to initial investigation, Suicano and Mark had a quarrel two months ago.

Degamo said the two men had another run-in last month.

Suicano allegedly strangled Mark in that incident.

Degamo said that could also be the reason the siblings shot him. (John Cavin Sabonsolin, USJ-R Mass Com intern)
