#Tapedbaby ma signed papers, cashed check: Cebu hospital-A A +A
Wednesday, July 2, 2014
THE Cebu Puericulture Center and Maternity House (CPCMH) released earlier today scanned photos of the check and voucher it issued to Jasmine Janice Loyola Badocdoc, mother of the baby whose mouth was taped allegedly by the facility's nurses.
The check was released to Badocdoc last Friday, June 27, the day she supposedly signed the settlement of agreement with CPCMH officials. On the front part of the check is the word "paid," which means that either Badocdoc had deposited the check in a bank and the money went to her account, or she encashed the check in a bank and accepted the money personally from the teller. The photo of the back portion of the check shows it was cashed or deposited on Monday, June 30.
"I'm really amazed why these couple have the guts and temerity to announce and make the people believe that they did not sign the document and no money was received," CPCMH legal counsel Cornelio Mercado said in a phone interview
Badocdoc's partner Ryan Noval has denied the supposed settlement.
"THERE IS NO SETTLEMENT!!! where and what money? whose signatures are those on that document? Don't be so fast to pass judgement upon us, you only know us on the news, not personally or intimately......maybe you would take money for your child. The lawyer and Maternity's board of directors could only wish, IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN!!! (sic)," he posted in his Facebook account.
