THE woman, who was found dead in Barangay Busay with a gunshot wound in the head, was reportedly a police asset.

Chuchi Jaime, 27, was identified by her mother Josephine.

PO2 Cristobal Geronimo of the Homicide Section of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) said Chuchi’s death may be drug related as the victim provided police information on certain illegal drug activities.

Chuchi was three months pregnant, said Josephine, who only learned about her daughter’s death when she saw the news last Monday that the body of a woman with a dragoon tattoo was found in Busay, Cebu City.

Geronimo said Chuchi was last seen alive leaving her residents in Sitio Lawis, Barangay Lorega, Cebu City together with her live-in partner, Aris Mabaga.

In a phone interview, Josephine told Sun.Star Cebu that Chuchi and Mabaga left their house at 10 p.m. Saturday because they were supposed to have a vacation in Bantayan Island.

Josephine said the couple argued in the afternoon of the same day. She said she became worried when Chuchi, her only daughter, could not be contacted the next day.

Josephine said Chuchi left behind a 10-year-old child who lives with her.

A barangay tanod found Chuchi’s body at 1 a.m. on May 11. Police were not able to identify her until Josephine approached the authorities last Monday night.

The CCPO will invite Mabaga for questioning in relation to Chuchi’s death.

Meanwhile, a seven-month-old girl was found dead last Monday afternoon in a creek in Barangay San Nicolas, Cebu City.

Josephine Belocura found the baby’s body while throwing garbage at the creek.

Belocura reported what she saw to the barangay officials, who asked the homicide section of the CCPO for help.

Authorities said the baby has been dead for two or three days.

The CCPO said the baby may have been dumped somewhere and was carried by the water.
