Monday, February 3, 2014
FIRE hit an ancestral house in Barangay Kasambagan yesterday noon, taking away some P300,000 worth of properties.
The Bureau of Fire and Protection (BFP) 7 received the alarm at 11:46 a.m. and declared the fire under control at 12:06 p.m.
The fire was on Aguinaldo St., in the area’s interior portion.
SFO1 Lowel Opolenticima said the fire reportedly started in the house owned by lawyer Felimon Longco.
Opolenticima said the house was reportedly made of light materials.
He said the fire was confined since the buildings nearby had firewalls.
He said the house was totally burned since it was unoccupied.
“Wala man gyud ni tawo diri, mao nga wala mabantayi dayon (Nobody stays here, that’s why nobody was able to report it),” added Opolenticima.
The fire investigator said they will still investigate what caused of fire.
He said they did not have any difficulty in putting out the fire even if it was in an interior portion.
“Kilid ra man ni siya sa dalan pero tua sa suok na part sa ilahang sityo (This is near the street, but this is in the interior part of the sitio),” said Opolenticima.
No one was hurt.
The fire investigator advised the public to carefully check their electrical connections since these are the most common cause of fire.
Appliances and electrical connections should be installed properly, and always remove plugs when appliances are unused.
