PROVINCIAL Board (PB) Member Julian Daan, a popular drama talent and endorser of various products, has been in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Chong Hua Hospital for more than a month.

Although his condition is stable, his wife Yolly said he had a second surgery for intestinal bleeding last Jan. 18.

She said her 68-year-old husband entered the hospital last Dec. 20 for a heart bypass

“His heart is already 100 percent okay and his second operation is now okay,” she said.

Yolly urged Julian’s fans and friends to be considerate and to understand why they’ve turned down visitors. This is to prevent room contamination since the board member is still recuperating, she said.

She said Julian can now talk, sit and eat on his own.

She said her husband was advised to undergo the bypass operation when he visited his doctor last Dec. 15.

She said she asked the doctor if the operation could wait until after Christmas, but the latter said it was urgent.

She said Julian had the bypass last Dec. 17.

After weeks of recuperation, Yolly said they were about to transfer to a private room when Julian began bleeding for unknown reasons.

“Maayo na lang wa dayon namo gibalhin sa private room (It was a good thing he was still in the ICU),” she said.

Yolly said they plan to check out next week, upon his doctor’s advice.

Meanwhile, Yolly, who is also Julian’s chief-of-staff, has been designated to sign documents on behalf of the board member, said Christian Gerard La Rosa, Julian’s staff and Yolly’s nephew.

Julian, popularly known as Teban Escudero, spent Christmas, New Year and Sinulog in the ICU.

During last Monday’s session, Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale asked the rest of the PB to offer prayers for the fast recovery of their colleague.
