JOBSEEKERS, including fresh graduates, are encouraged to take advantage of the job fairs in Mandaue City this week.

Two malls will host the job fairs that will offer local and overseas jobs.

At the Parkmall, a job fair offering local jobs will be held tomorrow until Wednesday.

Applicants for local and overseas jobs will be hired during the job fair at the JCentre Mall on Saturday.

In each venue, more than 30 companies will join the whole-day job fairs, which are organized with the help of the Mandaue City Government, through its Public Employment Services Office (Peso).

Peso Head Musoline Suliva said the job fairs are not only open to residents of Mandaue but to all jobseekers.

“We are expecting many job applicants to be hired. With the end of classes, many will have time to look for work, especially the new graduates,” Sulliva said in Cebuano.

Jobs in malls, production and business processes outsourcing companies, such as call centers will be available for jobseekers, he said.

At the JCentre Mall located on A.S. Fortuna St., 29 companies will hire applicants for local jobs while five will accept applicants for overseas jobs.

Suliva said the Peso aims to organize job fairs every year.

The Peso helps match companies and jobseekers. It also provides employment coaching to job applicants.

Suliva encouraged other malls to sponsor job fairs to help jobseekers. He said sponsoring job fairs can be a form of corporate social responsibility.
