WHAT follows an egagement? A wedding, naturally. So during the birthday bash of movie producter Mother Lily Monteverde, Manila media did not waste time to ask Marian River about her upcoming wedding date with fiance Dingdong Dantes.

Yes, they have gone to a wedding coordinator. Yes, everything went smoothly. And then there was the surprise item: she needs to get baptized again in a Catholic ceremony in the Philippines, PEP reported.

The beautiful actress was born in Madrid, Spain, and was duly baptized, but the Philippines does not recognize the sacrament that was done there.

The new baptism is one of the requirements of the Catholic church before she can walk down the aisle. Her wedding will be on Dec. 30 and will be held at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Cubao, Quezon City.

Marian is a devout Catholic and liked the idea of being baptized again in Cavite, her hometown, on Sept. 8, the feast of the Virgin Mary.
