RING a bell for Blue Bell! New flavors have been stocked in the fridge and are being served at the Texas Creamery kiosk in the new wing of Ayala Center Cebu, and the recently opened kiosk on the second floor of SM Northwing.

America’s third best-selling branded ice cream is at it again, scooping out equally gratifying flavors with those of the previous outings.

Tagged as “The Little Creamery in Brenham, Texas,” Blue Bell has captured a good reception in the Philippines, particularly in the south, since it first came to Cebu in October of last year—the brand’s debut in Asia.


The ice cream is manufactured in the United States by Blue Bell Creameries. In the Philippines, the company’s offerings are exclusively distributed by Visfood Corp.

With the presence of Blue Bell’s official scooping parlor, Texas Creamery, Cebu’s assurance of a rewarding ice cream fix has been translated into a seductively sweet breadth of flavors sitting neatly in the chiller; your eyes will definitely scream for ice cream! The old flavors are still on display, of course, but how could you turn down the recent arrivals?

Different flavors are cranked out every week at Texas Creamery. A current limited edition front act is the Sea Salt Caramel Ice Cream—an insanely delish interaction of creamy vanilla and salted caramel sauce swirl. With its salty twist, a sweltering August afternoon by the beach is a perfect scenario to indulge on this latest release.

Accented with bits of crunchy, chopped roasted almonds, another stellar item that is Pistachio Almond Ice Cream sports a classic saccharine sensation with nutty goodness.

Combine Sea Salt Caramel and Pistachio Almond and you’ll end up with a bomb! Both flavors are available in pints for a limited time.

Other ice cream specials are Birthday Cake, Bubblegum, Cake Batter, Caramel Turtle Fudge, Cherry Vanilla, Chocolate Chip, Cinnamon, Coffee Toffee Crunch, Coffee, Dulce de Leche, Fudge Brownie Nut, Happy Tracks, Italian Cream Cake, Krazy Kolors, Lemon, Milk Chocolate and Mocha Almond Fudge.

Rounding off the roll are the guilt-free choices: Buttered Pecan, Dutch Chocolate and Strawberries ‘n Cream (no sugar added); Party Cake, Peaches and Homemade Vanilla, Pecan Pralines ‘n Cream, Strawberry Cheesecake, Tin Roof, Triple Caramel, Triple Chocolate, and White Chocolate Almond. Sweet gracious!

But according to Visfood Corp. president Jeff Puno, Red Velvet Cake Ice Cream outsells any other Blue Bell flavors in the country, most especially in Cebu.

The original menu entry maintains its rank among local palates as a genius collaboration of two popular desserts (cake and ice cream), highlighting the luscious hint of what else but red velvet cake.

Jeff also mentioned that surprisingly, Cebu is the fastest-selling market nationwide for Texas Creamery booths and products, especially in Robinsons supermarket at Banilad Town Center.

Can’t get enough of the regular cups? Blue Bell ice cream sandwiches are now up for grabs at the kiosks (only). The single-serve treats have two chocolate wafers filled with cookies and cream, vanilla, and the Neapolitan trio with chocolate, vanilla and strawberry in one sandwich.

Other Blue Bell delights include Cotton Candy Bar, Country Cookie and the Almond Bar.

Blue Bell ice cream is also available in Metro Supermarket and Rustan’s Supermarket in Ayala Center Cebu; Robinsons Banilad Town Center, Rustan’s Supermarket in Banawa, Gaisano One Pavilion and Country Mall, Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort and Spa, Waterfront Hotel in Lahug and Mactan, Mooon Café in Asiatown I.T. Park, Sweet Surprises, Hi and H Marts, BE Resort, JPark Island Resort and Waterpark and Montebello Hotel.

Premium, quality and literally, mouthwatering ice cream since 1907. If Blue Bell doesn’t cheer you up, what else will?
