NAMED ONE of Vogue’s top 30 models of the decade, Coco Rocha has worked with some of fashion’s top photographers like Steven Meisel and Annie Liebowitz, and with the world’s top fashion houses including Chanel and Christian Dior. The supermodel has been chosen to round off the finale panel of judges for the Asia Pacific Dream Beautiful contest by cosmetics company Mary Kay.
The contest aims to celebrate the making of Asia’s next modeling star and makeup artist talent. Other judges include Mary Kay global makeup artist and celebrity MUA Luis Casco, who has worked with A-listers from Cameron Diaz to Heidi Klum to Miranda Kerr; fashion photographer Joseph Capobianco; celebrity stylist Christie Simpson; and top Asia supermodel Cara Grogan. Mary Kay’s Asia Pacific president K.K. Chua, global chief marketing officer Sheryl Adkins-Green and global creative director Stephen Webster will also be on the panel.
The contest kicked off in the Philippines on April 21, with hundreds of Mary Kay customers partnering with their independent beauty consultant to vie for one of the three finalist slots to represent the country during the finale. Asia Pacific TV personality Dominic Lau of E! News Asia will host the competition finale, to be held on Oct. 16 in Hong Kong.
“I salute the bravery and beauty of every woman who enters the Dream Beautiful contest,” remarks Coco. “It takes huge guts to acknowledge, let alone act on your dreams and I am here to support each and every person that steps on the catwalk. I love the positive feel of this contest...this is about women supporting each other to feel beautiful and experience their moment in the spotlight!” PR
