Culinary greatness by little chefs-A A +A
Friday, August 8, 2014
DOES the little one in the family seem inclined to helping out big time in the kitchen? Give him or her the opportunity to see what it’s like to learn from the chefs of a five-star resort.
At Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort and Spa, the Little Chefs, Big Chefs program invites children to a day of tasty creativity. The activity starts with decorating the children’s chef’s hats at the Activity Zone before proceeding to the “kitchens.”
Under the tutelage of the resort’s chefs, participants will learn to create fun and tasty dishes like pizza. Little chefs will love getting to knead and play with their pizza dough, and sprinkle it with heaps of different toppings before it’s popped into the oven and then ready to share with Mom and Dad. A different menu will be offered weekly so that the little chefs can learn to make a variety of dishes.
Little Chef, Big Chef is held at Acqua, the resort’s signature poolside Italian restaurant, every Saturday from 10 am to 1:30 pm. Parents are encouraged to make reservations, as each class can accommodate only 25 little chefs, four to 12 years old. The registration fee of P1,500nett includes all ingredients, a shirt, a souvenir photo, a recipe card and a certificate signed by executive chef Mark Mulder.
