One eyeshadow palette, several ways

-A A +A

THE eyeshadow trio is an item that many women have in their makeup kits. This versatile piece of makeup shouldn’t be limited to functioning in the same way over and over again. One palette with light, medium, and deep shades can be used in a multitude of ways. Here’s how.

Different eye looks:

• Use the medium shade on the lid, deep shade on the crease, and light shade on the brow bone and inner corners as highlight for the most conventional way to use this type of palette.

• Use the deep shade on the lid, the medium shade on the crease to blend, and the light shade on the brow bone. Apply the deep shade on the lower lash line to create a smokier look.

• Use the light shade in the inner two thirds of the eye, the medium shade on the outer third, and the deep shade on the crease and outer V.

• Use the light shade all over the lids up to the brow bone, then use a small brush with the deep shade to create a cut crease. Use the medium shade to soften the cut crease.

• Use the deep shade as eyeliner. Wet your makeup brush if you want a more intense line.

Other uses:

• To get the most functionality out of an eyeshadow trio, choose one that has at least one matte shade.

• Don’t think that an eyeshadow can only be used as an eyeshadow. Depending on your brow color, use the medium or deep matte shade in your palette to fill in brows using an eyebrow brush.

• Use the same medium or deep matte shade to contour your cheekbones, forehead and nose.

• Use the light shade as a highlighter on the cheekbones, bridge of the nose and other parts of the face that you want to bring forward.

You don’t need so many different kinds of makeup to come up with different looks. Be creative and see how you can use one trio in many ways.

Have fun experimenting!
