MAJORICA is the brand name for non-organic man-made pearls from the island of Majorca, Spain. These pearls have a very lustrous sheen. And the company shows them off in necklaces, earrings, bracelets and rings. Whether the setting is simple or intricate, the outcome is always elegant.

To show how these can be worn on different occasions—in sports, to office, in traveling and in gala affairs—Rustan’s in Ayala had a recent fashion show. Among the models were Amanda Dy, Penelop Ong, Micah Mendoza, Miriam Uy, Sherlin Anne Yu, Elaine Lo, Catherine Joy Chua, Joy Co, Mariza Ong-Lim and Marleen Ong. The show was annotated by Elaine Cooper who herself was in a white outfit that showed the elegance of Majorica pearls.

Congratulations to Mel Daguplo for opening a Sophie Paris outlet in the basement of Gaisano Country Mall. The outlet is small and can show only a few items available in Sophie Paris. This is because it is a fashion direct selling company and its agents have catalogs to show the full array of what is available in the company: bags in all shapes and sizes, all very cleverly designed, cosmetics, shoes and belts, clothes, watches, eyewear, perfumes and body and skin care products.

On hand to bless the outlet was Seventh Day Adventist Pastor Lelord Arranguit, and to help in the cutting of the ribbon was Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale, with Henri Linberg, Sophie Paris general manager.

AlveoLand now has a showroom at the Ayala Mall. It showcases how best to utilize space in a condominium unit. On hand to greet guests at its opening was Paulo Ong, division manager for project development. When space is at a premium, it’s good to see how it can best be utilized to prevent a hemmed in feeling.

The Sugboanong Komentaristang Nagpakabana (Sukna) recently had its induction of officers with Rep. Raul del Mar as inducting officer and keynote speaker.

Congratulations to Joel Asuncion, president; Richard Alfajara, vice president; Nympha Lagnada, secretary; Mayet de Egurrola, treasurer; Loy Jurado, auditor; and Max Andrino, PRO, with board directors Cesar Albor, Danny Cogtas, Ramon Labra, Pol Bulilan, Serapion Charles, Amihan Abasolo, Zac Aragon, Rudy Bayao, Ryan Secretarya and Chet Ortiz. The induction, held at the SMB 1521 Penthouse, also had Vice Gov. Magpale, Provincial Board Member Arleigh Sitoy and Sukna past president Ed Batiquin giving inspirational talks.
