THE Honorary Consul of Israel in Cebu, Emily Benedicto-Chioson and Eyal Kschaitzki, president of Israel Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines, led the dinner celebration at Marco Polo Plaza for the 66th anniversary of the independence of Israel. It had the special participation of the Ambassador of Israel and Madame Menashe Bar-on.

The ceremonial toast, led by Ambassador Bar-on and Gov. Hilario Davide Jr. for the Province of Cebu, strengthened the ties between Israel and Cebu in business, investment and service.

Gov. Davide awarded Israel with a plaque of appreciation for Israel’s quick and substantial assistance to the Yolanda victims. It drew a resounding applause from the guests. Ambassador Menashe Bar-on credited Consul Emily Chioson for facilitating Israel’s response to the urgent need of hapless flood victims in Cebu and Leyte.

The evening was highlighted by the performance of Israeli world musician, Tal Kravitz.
