SEDC, TCPI cited for supporting DENR 7 programs-A A +A

THE Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) has recognized the support of Solid Earth Development Corp. (SEDC) to its two recent programs.
The DENR Central Visayas acknowledged the collaboration of SEDC with its client Taiheiyo Cement Philippines Inc. (TCPI) in accomplishing the geohazards mapping and assessment of Aloguinsan town.
The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) also appreciated the participation of both firms in the National Greening Program (NGP) for the mining industry in the region.
DENR 7 Director Isabelo Montejo noted his office pursued through a public-private initiative the Aloguinsan project at one-is-to-10,000 scale as part of a strategy of DENR for disaster risk reduction and management.
Located along the western seaboard of Cebu, Aloguinsan is adjacent to San Fernando in the east where TCPI operates its cement manufacturing plant. It is also the place where SEDC sources most of the raw materials it supplies to TCPI.
MGB7 Director Loreto B. Alburo gave the awards to SEDC operations division manager Delfin A. Campo in his office in Banilad, Mandaue City for realizing the NGP in San Fernando town.
SEDC conducted at least two greening activities last year that planted 10,000 seedlings outside the mine in Barangay Bugho, at the buffer zones of the TCPI plant in South Poblacion, and along the provincial road to Tinubdan behind the plant.
