Multiple Personalities

-A A +A

Sequins with denim, emerald green with leather. These are unusual combinations that may not be first to come to mind when thinking of what to wear. With some creativity and fearlessness, it’s possible to come up with different outfit combinations, all full of personality.

These after-dark ensembles were inspired by Japanese street fashion and the downtown Los Angeles vibe. Draw inspiration from these two ultra-fashionable cities by taking riskier wardrobe choices and mixing high-end brands with mass-market labels.

Choose unique pieces that fit your personality and lifestyle and pair them with basics; or, if you want to mix them all together, there’s no stopping that stylish ingenuity.

Have a good mix of fancy pieces and basic ones in the closet. Some good wardrobe essentials to have are clothes in black or denim, which are easy to dress up or down.

They are also less memorable than, for example, a neon dress or printed trousers, so it’s safe to wear them repeatedly without anyone really noticing.

There’s no need to stress about going after only designer brands if this is beyond the wardrobe budget. Although most designer items boast of the best material and craftsmanship, not all may be willing to shell out for the hefty price tag. Look for more affordable but still well-made alternatives.

With all the boutiques around or even by thrift shopping, it’s possible to find quality pieces at lower prices.

Having a versatile wardrobe is not about constantly shopping for new pieces, but coming up with creative combinations. Mix casual pieces with luxurious ones for an unexpected outcome. The sequined tops here all have the ultra-glam elements of jewel tones, sequins and full embellishment.

Try wearing them for different occasions. On a night out, consider paring it with matte faux leather. For a grungier touch, mix them with stonewashed ripped shorts and black booties. Dress it up with a dramatic, full-length skirt to attend a fancy party, and still be comfortable.

Open up your closet to review the items within, and try on things that you never thought could work together. You may be pleasantly surprised by how multifarious that wardrobe is.
