THE United Nations proclaimed March 20, the International Day of Happiness. The Zonta Club I, in celebration of March as Women’s Month, conducted a seminar-workshop on personality development and team building, Thursday, March 20, at the Country Club, with Speechcom International, facilitated by this writer. The permeating insight on “Happy People Make Happy Community!,” with “smile” as a tool to cope with stress, was fun with interactive exercises. The seminar ended with group tasks on leadership and advocacy as Zontians visualized a “Zonta Village!”

Donation to CCMC

The Rotary International District 3860 headed by indefatigable district governor, Edgar Chiongbian, donated over P1 million to the city of Cebu for the construction of the Cebu City Medical Center (CCMC). Chiongbian, known for his stewardship of civic projects, believes that the speedy construction of CCMC is a priority. He also led series of donations and services to Yolanda-stricken areas in Bohol and Leyte.


Aida’s Big Day

Aida Uy hosted a fun lunch on her birthday for selected friends and colleagues from the travel industry at Pino. There were endless :chatters” and greetings!

Meantime, the Philippine College of Physicians-Central Visayas had a hilarious fellowship featuring a lip-synch contest which brought the house down. Program coordinator and bubbly emcee Dr. Jane Galang paced a lively program with songs and choreography.
