AFTER pawnshops and food, Michel Lhuillier takes on another business venture in Cebu. Bargain opened last March 6, 2014.

Bargain is a new concept store in Cebu. It originally started in France 30 years ago as an affordable go-to shopping destination. Now, they have opened around 35 stores in France, as well as chains in other countries.

The Cebu store is a partnership between Lhuillier, DSK Asia chief executive officer Alain Descombels, and the Alliance Francaise de Cebu director Louis Thevenin.

Bargain sells products from different parts of the world like China, India, and France. The products are an assortment of kitchenware, tools, accessories, and beddings among others. Every item is handpicked and tested by their team in various countries to assure customers of the quality.

The store sells items that are 30 percent less than competitors. They challenge customers to find the same item with a cheaper price and they will refund the difference.

“We assure that customers get the value out of their money,” Lhuillier said.

Bargain takes pride in being the ‘Zara of hardware.’ They will be changing their items every two weeks and depending on the demand of the market. The store is also open for wholesale.

In six months, Bargain will be bringing in a truck as a moving store that will provide affordable and more apt items for those in Cebu province. The partners are also thinking of expanding in Cebu and around the country. They will be opening for franchise soon, as well.

Bargain is located at 38 Gorordo Ave., Cebu City. The store is open daily from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. (ADO)
