Utzurrum: An ageless Hazel and Theresians five

SHE has been described as a woman of the world, but also a Woman of Substance, dedicated to family life and community endeavors. An ageless beauty and now, aging ever so gracefully. And why shouldn’t she?

She’s Hazel Graham-Gonzalez, ravishing in a melon-coral outfit, simply accented with a multi-strand pearl necklace, greeting all and sundry for birthday lunch at her restaurant, The Beehive, along F. Ramos St.

“Guess my age,” she ventured, why? We would never have thought she was “almost ninety.” Positive thinking is the key, she said.

The Beehive has been known for more than five decades as a gourmet “beehive” of gastronomic fantasies and that day, the menu was absolutely out of this world. Guests were piling their plates and returning for more!

Here’s a collage of photos of her friends from way back, sharing her joyous and pensive moments, but for now, the mood was happy, cheerful and full of good wishes, hugs, kisses and toasts for not only more years to live, but more life to her years!

Its not too early to plan for St. Theresa’s College's annual homecoming 2014, come July. Already, the theme is starting to develop, “MTV Through the Decades and Beyond.”

With the silver jubilarians as dominating class, they are moving heaven and earth to campaign for unprecedented attendance for this once-a-year event.

As a teaser, we are featuring these photos from last year’s “Local Fiestas in Focus,” with the Sinulog as Cebu’s featured dance, as well as other colorful contingents.

One of highlights of the previous year was the presence of Theresian sisters from different levels, who agreed to attend, even crossing oceans just to be at their Alma Mater welcome to the Garcia siblings Nelia G. Neri, Joyce G. Dizon and Gina G. Atienza from the Philippines. Zenda G. Lat from New Jersey, USA, and Elma G. Muangkroot from Bangkok!

That was really some homecoming!
