THE management of Pioneer Group forewent its traditional Christmas party last December to contribute more to the rebuilding efforts in the areas devastated by super typhoon Yolanda.

The Christmas party fund was pooled with donations from colleagues, individuals and partner-donors, such as Tysers, Nipponkoa, GlobalHealth, Medialdea Law Offices and Almajo Development Corp., that reached a total of P3.1 million.

Pioneer Foundation Inc., the corporate social responsibility arm of Pioneer Group, entrusted the P3.1 million to the Center for Agriculture and Rural Development Inc. (Card Inc.) for a housing and livelihood rehabilitation project in the towns of Basey and Balanguiga in Samar.

“We are one with the entire nation in helping our countrymen to rebuild their lives and communities. We hope that our contributions will bring much needed assistance to them,” said Atty. Betty Medialdea, president of Pioneer Foundation Inc.

Pioneer is a group of companies with two main arms, namely, Pioneer Insurance, representing non-life insurance, and Pioneer Life, representing life.
