BLUEWATER Maribago Beach Resort celebrates Cebu’s biggest annual event—the Sinulog Festival—with a surge of local flavors and cultural entertainment!

This weekend, “Sulog sa Bluewater” —inspired by the Cebuano word for current or a surge in tidal waters that characterizes the popular Sinulog dance— brings to you a wave of dining events that will surely spice up your Cebu experience.

First stop is the Pista Cebuana this Saturday, Jan. 18. Experience the creative and colorful way locals celebrate feasts in the barrios, complete with flavorful dishes, great beats and dancing. “Pista Cebuana” is a Bluewater barrio fiesta special that showcases the classic Cebuano cuisine like balbacua, pochero, bam-i, and lechon de Cebu. Buffet dinner is open from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at The Allegro. the Hiyas ng Bituin dancers will render a Sinulog-inspired cultural show at 7:30 p.m.


On Jan. 19, try the Sulog-Sugba, which draws on Cebu’s favorite dining pastime, “Sugba-Sugba sa Sugbo,” made more interesting with a twist of Churrasco-style grilling. The meat fest features the finest cuts of beef, pork, chicken and premium sausages with an array of flavorful sauces. The Sulog-Sugba buffet lunch is open from 11:30 am to 2 p.m. at The Allegro.

On Jan. 19 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., try “Painit ug Kakanin,” or homegrown hot merienda fare just perfect to share with family and friends. Try Bluewater’s delicious local tsokolate, hot cake, bibingka, palitaw, puto and other hot new items. (PR)
