Tax notes: Further extension of submission of sales reports

SEVERAL taxpayers using the Cash Register Machines (CRM) or Point of Sales (POS) machines have not yet submitted the mandatory sales reports for May, despite the extension granted by way of Revenue Memorandum Circular (RMC) No. 48-2014 to file until June 30, 2014. The failure to file the sales reports on time was brought about by the difficulty of a number of Revenue District Offices to access the enhanced and integrated eAccReg and eSales systems in processing applications such as account enrollment, application for accreditation, application for registration and monthly sales reporting.

In view of this, the Bureau of Internal Revenue issued RMC No. 56-2014 to further extend the deadline to July 31, 2014 for sales reports covering May and June 2014, without any penalty. Sales for July will be reported on or before the 8th (for taxpayers whose last digit of the tax identification number (TIN) is even) or the 10th (for taxpayers whose last digit of the TIN is odd) day of August 2014.

Furthermore, all taxpayers with CRM, POS machines and other sales machines with manually issued Permits to Use are mandated to re-register in the enhanced and integrated eAccReg and eSales systems on or before July 31, 2014.

It is best for taxpayers-users of CRM and POS to meet the new deadline on July 31, 2014 to avoid penalties.
