FRONT-RUNNING Camicosi seeks for a fourth-straight win as it battles Macajalar in the resumption of the 2014 Cagayan de Oro Mason basketball tournament at Camp Evangelista gym in Barangay Patag tonight.

The Fiscal Alfonso Vicente-led CVL tried to bounce back from a 58-62 loss to Camicosi last Thursday when it tangles with 7 CVL in the 6 pm opener.

With Giovanni Redulla and the Pacuribot brothers complementing with Mat Gabut and Wincy Galendez in a well-balanced scoring, Camicosi was able to withstand the 20-point explosion of Vicente to remain unbeaten in three games.

“Nangigo sab ilang reinforcement nga nakasapon pa sa dula sa final half,” one CVL cager said, referring to the late-coming James Abucejo who doled out 9 points including two crucial freethrows.

In the second game, the CDO Eagles relied on the hot hands of Col. Carlos Alvarez and Jong Lumbay to defeat Makahambus, 51-47.

The 50-year-old Alvarez, who scored 43 points in a losing cause against 7 CVL, sizzled for 32 markers as Lumbay backed him up with 16 to help improve the Eagles’ standing at 3-2. (LLS)
