Iponan, Kauswagan schools new PE Rhythmic champs-A A +A

THE students of Iponan National High School and Kauswagan Elementary School went home winners as they were declared champions in the secondary and elementary categories of the PE Rhythmic Dance Competition held Monday morning at the Pelaez Sports Center.
The schools were scored based on their creativity, originality, choreography, costume and discipline.
Showing patience and proper synchronization while still marching in the parade, the Iponan NHS went home with P50,000 cash prize.
Also adding to the win of the school is their red, yellow, purple and green props which combined neatly with their all-white attire, a neat and well-blended color blocking scheme.
The students moved in coordinated steps in the rhythm of the song “Gentleman,” “Tinikling” and other upbeat music.
Kauswagan ES who gave their all-out performance won P50,000, as well.
They were also awarded Best in Choreography and Props, Best in Originality, Loudest Cheer, Most Disciplined and has the cleanest performance.
Other winners for the two categories are second placers Macasandig NHS and Pedro Oloy N. Roa Sr. ES, which received P30,000; third placers Cugman NHS and Bugo ES, 20,000; and a P5,000 consolation prize given to Pedro Oloy N. Roa Sr. NHS and City Central School with an additional seed fund of P20,000 given to all participating groups.
Organized by the City Government of Cagayan de Oro, Department of Tourism-10 (DOT-10), Department of Education-10 (DepEd-10) and the City Schools Division, the PE Rhythmic Dance Competition is a special dance showcase and field demonstration participated by PE students from different schools in the city.
More than a thousand students from different schools of the city participated in the competition with each group consisting of no less than 800 pupils per school.
