P2.3-M worth of ‘shabu’ seized in 1 week-A A +A

ABOUT P2.3 million worth of shabu was seized by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Northern Mindanao (PDEA-10) in a series of drug bust operations in the region.
PDEA-10 chief information officer Rosemarie Bajao told Sun.Star Cagayan de Oro Thursday that the four operations from June 10 to 12 led to the confiscation of not less than 176 grams of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) and the arrest of four suspected drug couriers.
PDEA agents arrested on Wednesday, June 11, Jay-R Fajardo, 23, and Amando Diaz, 42, in a drug bust operation around 1:30 p.m. at Purok 4A, Barangay Gusa where both are residents.
Confiscated from the suspects were more or less 50 grams of suspected shabu enclosed in seven separate heat-sealed plastic sachets with an estimated street value of P350,000.
In another drug bust operation, PDEA-10 collared Ali Macaangcos around 4:30 p.m. at Barangay Barra, Opol, Misamis Oriental, also on Wednesday.
Seized from the Macaangcos was about 26 grams of suspected shabu contained in six heat-sealed plastic sachets with an estimated street value of P182,000.
Another operation was conducted in a parking lot in a mall this city which led to the arrest of Ben Bonsalagan, 28, a resident of Marawi City, Lanao del Sur, on Tuesday, June 10.
Taken from the suspect’s possession were more or less 100 grams of shabu enclosed in a cellophane of chocolate snack which has an estimated value of P800,000.
Over P1 million worth of shabu were also confiscated in Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental Wednesday.
Recovered pieces of drug evidence were brought to the PDEA laboratory for further examination.
The suspects are now temporarily held at PDEA's detention cell. Cases for violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act will be filed against the suspects.
