CAGAYAN de Oro City Police Office (Cocpo) called Wednesday the relatives of suspected summary execution victims to coordinate with the investigators to fast track the probe of the cases.

In a radio interview Wednesday afternoon, Chief Inspector Lemuel Gonda, chief of Cocpo’s operations and plans branch, said the need for the identification of the victims is vital to pursue their cases.

On Wednesday morning, February 19, another body was found dumped in Macapagal road in Barangay Carmen. The victim, who sustained four gunshot wounds in the back of his head and two in the back of his body, has yet to be identified.

The Scene of the Crime Operatives in Northern Mindanao (Soco-10) has said they found several tattoo markings of the body in all capital letters, and the most significant read “BHODS,” which could hint relatives who might have a missing family member.

Soco’s team leader Dr. West Edquila said the body’s face was wrapped with a striped t-shirt of white and black, which could be the victim’s own top.

Edquila said they also found six empty shells of undetermined caliber pistol and knife beside the body.

The man stands about 5’5 in height, between 20-30 years old and has a brown complexion.

The knife could have been of the victim's, but the report didn't show it was used.

There are still three bodies lined up at a funeral parlor in Bulua, waiting to be identified, as of this posting. The unidentified bodies were all killed and dumped in secluded areas in the city.

Gonda appealed to the public not to speculate what groups are behind the series of killings, but rather help the authorities on necessary information that would lead to the solution of the crimes.
