MOTORCYCLE enthusiasts were treated to an array of delights and entertainment as “Original na Bida” (OnB) made a three-day pitstop at SM City Mall Cagayan de Oro on its third year campaigning for original motorbikes and spare parts.

For starters, the event which ran from March 14 (Friday) to 16 (Sunday) did bring to the city the country’s “Big 4” motorcycle companies—Honda Philippines, Kawasaki Motor Philippines, Suzuki Philippines and Yamaha Motor Philippines.

To the uninitiated, it may come as a surprise that these competing motorcycle manufacturers visited the city for this year’s campaign, but those who understand the value of quality, originality and safety will appreciate what the Big 4 has offered to its thousands of satisfied customers.

OnB was conceptualized as the Big 4’s response to the influx of what they called as copycats of the original motorcycle brands.

Last Friday’s activities started with a motorcade around the city and followed by a ribbon-cutting and unveiling of the OnB seal.

“You deserve only the original” was written at the center of the seal, while on the top part are the words safety, high quality and premium design. Below is written “siguradong maaasahan.” Underneath the seal are the official logos of Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha.

A promotional video titled “Bida Vs. Nagpapakabida” was also shown to remind the motorcycle-riding public on why it is important to patronize original products than going for cheaper ones which will make you regret in the end.

At the opening program, officials from the Big 4 talked about the need to buy original motorcycle and spare parts, be it Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki or Yamaha. It doesn’t really matter what you buy as long as it’s the original brand.

After all, these brands have been around for decades and their products have been tried and tested by generations of motorcycle users.

At the venue, bikers and mall goers were accompanied by the Big 4 employees and officials as they saw for themselves the original models of Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha were put on display side by side with the imitations.

Other activities included seminars on safety, various games, raffle events, a “Bidang Barangay” contest, rap battle, and many more.

Also present during the opening were the OnB video’s actors Chris Lomotan, Abbygale Monderin and Michael Morales.

Adding to the applauding crowd were members of the motorcycle clubs in Cagayan de Oro.

Greanne Trisha Mendoza, Ms. Kagay-an 2012, was the program host during the opening.
