TO HIGHLIGHT more the upcoming activities in time for the city’s annual feast, Smart has launched the “Live All Out” mobile photography contest.
Mobile photographers shall submit entries that promote the Kagay-anon fiesta spirit.

Photos can feature places, things and activities that they love about Cagayan de Oro such as the whitewater rafting and the river trekking, Macahambus Hill Cave and Gorge, ziplining and ATV rides at Jatico Adventures, the Gardens of Malasag Eco-tourism Village, General Mc Arthur’s marker, Gaston Park, McArthur Park, Museo de Oro and the St. Augustine Cathedral Church, named the city’s patron saint and the reason why the city celebrates the fiesta.

Also to be photographed are “foodscapes” of meals and treats that are favorites or of CdeO’s own such as Chingkeetea’s Milk Tea, Good Fellas’ Pizza, Red Tail Shrimps’ spicy seafood, Missy Bon Bon or fine dining at Seda Hotel and the Kagay-anon Restaurant.

Since the popularity of “selfies,” self-portraits of you wearing the official Higalaay shirt can also be an entry. Each shirt costs P250 and funds will be used for the city’s fiesta feeding program for street children. Buy a shirt, feed a child and hopefully win a prize in the contest.

Participate in activities and capture the CdeO carnival street dancing on August 24, Sunday afternoon, pyro festival at SM City on the 25th, the “Higalas” parade of floats and icons on the 27th or any photo of the city fiesta’s core events.

For those who will be joining Smart’s ‘Live All Out’ concert on August 27 at Lim Ket Kai parking lot, photographs of great moments and your live all out experience during the concert? can be an entry as well.

To participate in Smart Prepaid's “Live All Out” mobile photography contest, Smart subscribers simply need to register by sending to 0948 330 9332 your name, name of school or company and your email address.

Photos should be captured with your mobile phone and must be uploaded on your Facebook account with hashtags #SmartKagayan #SmartLiveAllOut and #HigalaayCdeO not later than August 28, 2014.

“?Mobile photography can be fun especially during the fiesta season since it is light and you can move freely. For a photograph to be great, one must be able to show something ordinary in an extraordinary way," photojournalist Bobby Timonera said during one of Smart's mobile photography seminars last August 16, 2014 at Primavera Residences.

Best photos for each category will be awarded with special prizes and the Best Higalaay: Kagay-an Festival photo will win a brand new Nokia Lumia 1020 smartphone.

Minor prizes are Fujifilm's Instax Mini 8 Camera and camera phone accessories for a better mobile photography experience.
