Housing Fair 2014 formally launched

IN COOPERATION with the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council and Local Shelter Agencies with the City Government of Cagayan de Oro, the Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor (PCUP) and the Subdivision and housing Developers Association Inc. (SHDA), the Housing Fair 2014 was officially launched on August 19, an annual event participated by private and government housing agencies.

Mayor Oscar Moreno graced the opening ceremony and said in his speech that the housing fair aims to provide shelter to the community especially for the informal settlers in the city.

“The real estate market and housing programs like these are crucial components of our economy and will also empower the people of CdeO to have a home of their own,” Moreno said.


According to Vivian Vestil, president of SHDA, the event is a convenient place for families who plan to acquire the house they want according to their needs because there are many exhibitors to accommodate them.

“They will be able to pick better with all their possible choices present here, gathered in one venue,” Vestil said.

A. Brown Company Inc., Avida Land Corporation, Filinvest Land Corporation, Land Resources Corporation, Leohland Realty and Development Corporation, Liberty Land Corporation, Metrobank, Pag Ibig Fund, Pueblo de Oro Development Corporation, Robsinsons Homes, Strategic Property Management–Northern Mindanao, Treasure Island Industrial Corporation and Ayala Land Premier are among the exhibitors that showcase plans, ideas and tips for those who plan to buy and building houses that are economical and long-lasting.

Through the housing fair, the public is informed on new developments in the city’s property and real estate.

With the theme “Our Home, Our Own,” the housing fair will be available for display and inquiries until August 23 at the Activity Center of Centrio Mall.
