Thursday, August 28, 2014
POLICE filed charges before the Department of Justice (DOJ) on Thursday against the alleged killers of international race car driver Ferdinand "Enzo" Pastor.
Charged with murder were alleged mastermind Domingo de Guzman III and Police Officer 2 Edgar Angel, the man hired by de Guzman for P150,000 to kill Pastor on the evening of June 12 in Quezon City.
Pastor's wife Dahlia Guerrero-Pastor, meanwhile, was slapped with parricide for allegedly hatching the hit plan with de Guzman.
De Guzman also underwent inquest proceedings, which was attended by Pastor's parents, for illegal possession of firearms.
Authorities are already looking at love triangle as motive behind the killing as Guerrero is said to be in a relationship with de Guzman, a car shop owner.
Angel, assigned in Pasay City, fell to authorities on August 23 when he was caught selling 100 grams of shabu to a policeman who posed as buyer in Quezon City on August 23.
On interrogation, he confessed his participation into the crime and tagged de Guzman as mastermind.
Three days later, policemen arrested de Guzman in an entrapment operation on August 26 in Muntinlupa City after he agreed to meet Angel, who was seeking the P50,000 bonus promised by the businessman for successfully killing the champion car racer.
Seized from de Guzman were two hand guns loaded with bullets and his car.
Angel and de Guzman are temporarily detained at Camp Karingal in Quezon City. (Sunnex)
