Netizens outraged by rape-slay incident in Bulacan-A A +A

NETIZENS expressed outrage over the brutal death of a female freelance model whose body was found floating in a rice field in Calumpit, Bulacan.
The photo of Anria Galang Espiritu's remains on the rice field was posted on Twitter by the Calumpit police last August 14.
Police reports said Espiritu, 26, was raped by unidentified men before she was stabbed multiple times in the neck. A long chain, which was used to choke Espiritu, and a screwdriver were found by the police at the crime scene.
Netizens are now calling for accountability for her death. A Facebook page titled “Justice for Anria Galang Espiritu” was made on August 16.

The said page uploaded a photo of Garcia on August 17, with a black ribbon on the left corner, and a caption “Justice for Anria Galang Espiritu” below. The picture was then shared by 1,095 people and had 4, 303 likes.
"It breaks my heart and I know how hard it is for Anria’s family. Please, be strong and don’t stop to look for justice for Anria’s death," a post said.
“I was deeply saddened after hearing the news about Anria. I don’t know her but I know that she is someone else’s precious daughter, sister, cousin, and friend,” a Facebook user added.
