DAVAO CITY -- The nature and agriculture-inspired float of International Pharmaceuticals Incorporated (IPI) is this year's grand champion of Pamulak sa Kadayawan traditional category, while Barangay Kapitan Tomas Monteverde's flower float bagged the alternative category.

More than 70 participants joined this year's Pamulak sa Kadayawan organized by the Kadayawan Foundation.

The other winners are:

Sun.Star SuperBalita Davao, which is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year, also joined the Pamulak sa Kadayawan.

Meanwhile, out-of-towners ruled Saturday's Indak-Indak sa Kadalanan, a street dancing competition of Davao City's Kadayawan Festival.

The contingent from Mati City of Davao Oriental represented by the Matiao National High School was this year's Indak-Indak sa Kadalanan champion.

The other out-of-town winners are Tribu sa Lalan of Polomolok, South Cotabato and San Luis National High School, first and fourth place winners, respectively.

Sta. Ana National High School of Davao City got the third place. It was also third place winner for Davao-based category last year.

Cabantian National High School also of Davao City is the second place winner.

Banay-Banay from Davao Oriental won the Best in Musicality.

There are only 17 contingents both from Davao City and out-of-town performers this year compared to the 23 participants last year.

This year's organizer, the Kadayawan Foundation, also provided some changes in the contest procedures. Instead of having separate winners for Davao-based and out-of-town performers, there was only one set of winners this year. (MVG/Sunnex)
