DETAINED businessman Cedric Lee and Zimmer Raz, who are facing grave coercion and serious illegal detention cases filed by television host Vhong Navarro, were transferred Wednesday to a regular jail in Taguig City.
The two accused were transferred around 1:30 p.m. from the National Bureau of Investigation in Manila to a regular jail in Camp Bagong Diwa under heavy guard.
Lee and Raz underwent medical test before they were transferred.
Last Tuesday, the Taguig Regional Trial Court ordered the transfer of Lee, Raz and their co-accused Deniece Cornejo to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) detention facility in Taguig City.
Lee and Raz earlier questioned the court's decision citing the celebrity status of the complainant, which makes them vulnerable to inmates in a regular jail.
Meanwhile, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) spokesperson Elizabeth Jasmin said they have received a commitment order from the Taguig City RTC on Wednesday ordering the transfer of Cornejo to Camp Bagong Diwa. Cornejo camp, she said, filed a motion for consideration.
Cornejo is currently detained at the Philippine National Police (PNP) Anti-transnational crime unit in Camp Crame, Quezon City.
The case against the three accused stemmed from the alleged mauling of Navarro at a condominium unit of Cornejo last January. (Sunnex)
