A VIDEO of a street kid answering mathematical questions from a netizen has gone viral on the internet, with 23,873 shares in the past week.

Chealsie Mae Luzanta, a commerce and business administration student at the University of Santo Tomas (UST) uploaded July 25 the video of a street kid named Gerald, also known as "Math wizard," on her Facebook account and asked her friends to share it.

Gerald was able to answer all the questions on square root asked by Luzante and friends. He also had an adept knowledge on the topic -- determining what was perfect square and what was not and identifying imaginary numbers.

"I never expected that my video will be this viral and people are already starting to message me wanting to give money for Gerald (the kid good in Math)," Luzante said on her post.

Netizens were pleased on how Gerald responded flawlessly with all the questions to him.

One of the Facebook posts stressed that Gerald needed a "pure" education because he was a "national asset."

Though some were intimidated to Gerald, others, however, were not impressed.

They said the video might be "fake and gay" and "scripted." There was also a comment saying that he memorized the square root from one to 50.

With all the criticisms, a netizen claimed that Gerald is "extraordinary" despite of his status and the lack of education.

Meanwhile, Luzanta posted on her account, a day after uploading the video, that she was planning to organize a fundraising project for Gerald to support him in pursuing his studies. (Ruth Abbey Gita/Sunnex)
