PNP extends visiting hours for Revilla-A A +A
Thursday, June 26, 2014
THE Philippine National Police (PNP) extended the visiting hours for detained Senator Ramon "Bong" Revilla on Thursday after his arraignment before the Sandiganbayan first division, a police official said.
PNP Public Information Office (PIO) chief Reuben Theodore Sindac said Revilla is allowed to accept visitors until 7 p.m. Thursday since he started accepting visitors late following his appearance in court.
The anti-graft court entered a "not guilty" plea for Revilla after the senator refused to enter any plea on the plunder and graft charges cases related to the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) scam.
"We took it to consideration ilang oras kasi ang nawala sa kanyang visiting hours kaya pinagbigyan ng custodial center na i-extend ang visiting hours," Sindac said.
Earlier, the PNP said Revilla's family and friends can only visit the beleaguered senator every Thursday and Sunday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. However, lawyers and spiritual advisers can visit anytime.

Sindac said Revilla on Thursday has 21 visitors including his family, lawyers and friends while Senator Jose "Jinggoy" Estrada has eight visitors, which consisted of his family and lawyer.
The two senators surrendered on separate occasions after the court signed the arrest warrants against them and their co-accused in PDAF scam cases.
Revilla surrendered to the Sandiganbayan while Esrada surrendered to his father, former President and now Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada, who later on yielded him to the CIDG in Camp Crame, Quezon City. (Sunnex)
