Aquino appoints new Owwa chief, other officials-A A +A

PRESIDENT Benigno Aquino III has replaced high-ranking officials of the Department of Labor and Employment (Dole) and its attached agency and appointed a number of people to other government positions as well as new ambassadors to different posts abroad, a Palace official said Friday.
Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte said in a press briefing that Aquino named Reydaluz Conferido as a new undersecretary of Dole, replacing Danilo Cruz.
He also replaced Overseas Workers' Welfare Administration (Owwa) chief Carmelita Dimzon by Rebecca Calzado.
Aquino also appointed five members of the Professional Regulatory Board of Nursing under the Professional Regulatory Commission. They are Gloria Arcos, Carmelita Divinagracia, Carfredda Dumlao, Florence Cawaon and Glenda Arquiza.
The President also nominated four new ambassadors, namely, Domingo Nolasco as Ambassador to the Republic of Italy; Wilfredo C. Santos to the State of Qatar; Melita Sta. Maria-Thomeczek to the Federal Republic of Germany; and Nathaniel Imperial to the State of Israel.
Their appointments were all dated May 30, 2014, Valte said. (SDR/Sunnex)
