PNP to honor North Cotabato cops-A A +A

THE Philippine National Police (PNP) will honor the 15 cops who showed courage during an encounter with more or less 100 armed men believed to be members of the New People’s Army (NPA) in President Roxas, North Cotabato on May 20.
Set to receive the PNP Medal of Bravery from PNP chief Director General Alan Purisima are Police Inspector Sherwin Panaguiton, Senior Police Officer 4 Arnold Nadela, Senior Police Officer 3 Larry Gregorio, Senior Police Officer 2 Isidro Guirhem, Senior Police Officer 1 Marivic Pedrola, Police Officer 3 Julius Dagpin, Police Officer 3 Michael Angelo Cariño, Police Officer 3 Rafael Carbon, Police Officer 2 Dennis Soledad, Police Officer 1 Raymund Niño Nuevo, Police Officer 1 Razel Genzola, Police Officer 1 Job Franklin Santos, Police Officer 1 Johnny Boy Lomotos and Police Officer 1 Roy Angelo Rasonabe.
Apart from the Medal of Bravery, Police Senior Inspector Bernabe Rubio, chief of police of the President Roxas Municipal Police Station, will receive the PNP Medalya ng Sugatang Magiting for being wounded in the firefight.
The awarding ceremony will be held on Wednesday in Davao City.
“Though outnumbered, the police officers successfully defended their town against the shooting and looting rampage of the insurgent. We are just giving these cops what they deserve,” said Purisima.
Purisima will also turn over a brand new KIA 4x4 troop carrier, assault rifles and replenishment ammunition and financial support to the town's policemen, who repulsed the rebels after a 15-minute exchange of gunfire.
