Thursday, May 22, 2014
THE fire and explosions at Fort Bonifacio in Taguig City on May 7 claimed its third fatality, a military official said Thursday.
Army spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Noel Detoyato said First Lieutenant Dinar Alosada died last Wednesday at the East Medical Center due to burn injuries.
Earlier, two enlisted personnel were killed in the fire that gutted the Army's Explosive and Ordnance Disposal (EOD) headquarters.
Meanwhile, Detoyato said Army chief Lieutenant General Hernando Iriberri has ordered the relief of Lieutenant Colonel Florante Sison as commander of the Army EOD based on command responsibility, in connection with the May 7 fire and explosions.
Detoyato said Iriberri issued the order based on the recommendation of the Board of Inquiry that looked into the fire.
The blaze, which caused series of explosions, has injured 30 people, including military personnel and civilian firefighters. (VR/Sunnex)
