Court orders PNP to return Napoles to Laguna jail-A A +A
Tuesday, May 20, 2014
A MAKATI City court denied the request of Janet Lim-Napoles, the alleged pork barrel scam architect, for an extended stay at the Ospital ng Makati (OsMak) for lack of merit and immediately ordered her transfer to Fort Sto. Domingo in Sta. Rosa, Laguna on or before May 23.
Napoles' camp earlier asked the Makati Regional Trial Court branch 150 presiding Judge Elmo Alameda to further her stay at OsMak, where her uterus and ovaries were removed due to a cyst.
Her lawyers said Napoles has to undergo follow-up medical check-up.
On March 31, Napoles was brought to the OsMak from the Fort Sto. Domingo, where she was detained for serious illegal detention of pork barrel scam main whistleblower Benhur Luy, to undergo operation.
Napoles underwent a successful surgery on April 23 and days later, she was already granted with medical clearances from her physicians and discharge notice from the OsMak.
On Monday, the Makati RTC and Luy, a former associate of Napoles, were ordered by the Court of Appeals to comment on her petition to be released on bail. (Sunnex)
