MANILA -- Tropical Storm "Domeng" (international name: Peipah) has maintained its strength while moving toward Mindanao, the state weather agency reported Monday.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that as 10 a.m. Monday, Domeng was located 770 kilometers (km) east of Davao City.

Domeng is moving west northwest at 15 kilometers per hour (kph), with maximum winds of 65 kph near its center and gustiness of up to 80 kph.

Pagasa said Domeng, the fourth cyclone in the country this year, is expected to be at 480 km east of Davao City by Tuesday morning.

Pagasa weather forecaster Jun Galang said that due to extended cloudiness, some parts of Mindanao and Eastern Visayas will experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and isolated thunderstorms.

Galang said the storm will likely exit the Philippine territory either Saturday or Sunday via Palawan or Mindoro then toward the West Philippine Sea. (PNA/Sunnex)
