A PREGNANT daughter of the late Communist Party of the Philippines-New People's Army (CPP-NPA) spokesperson Gregorio "Ka Roger" Rosal was arrested by authorities on early Thursday.
Andrea Rosal was arrested by the Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (ISAFP) and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in Barangay 169, Caloocan City along with her security escort identified by the name of Che, as well as Chairman Ruben Gatchalian who owns the house where they were staying, the AFP said in a statement.
An NBI official earlier confirmed the development but requested anonymity due to lack of authority to speak on the matter.
Also known as Naiya or Liam, Andrea was arrested by virtue of warrants of arrest for kidnapping and murder issued by the Mauban Regional Trial Court in Quezon. She was also tagged in an attempted homicide case in Laguna.
Andrea, a ranking NPA leader in Southern Tagalog, and her two companions are currently under the custody of the NBI.
The arrest came five days after police arrested spouses Benito and Wilma Tiamzon, who are high-ranking members of the communist movement. (Sunnex)
