Arroyo co-accused yields

A CO-ACCUSED of former President and now Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo in the P366-million Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) plunder case surrendered to police on Monday.

Jose Taruc V, who allegedly took part in the alleged misuse PCSO Intelligence Fund, turned himself in to the Detective Special Operations Unit (DSOU) of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group.

CIDG spokesperson Chief Inspector Beth Jasmin said Taruc underwent booking procedures including mug shots, fingerprints, and medical checkup at the DSOU office.

However, Taruc did not stay in the DSOU office longer and was immediately taken to the Sandiganbayan, where plunder cases against him, Arroyo and others is being heard.

Jasmin said that it is up to the anti-graft court where Taruc will be detained. (Sunnex)
