Farm owners killed in Basilan

ZAMBOANGA CITY -- Three people were killed while visiting their farmland in a nearby island province of Basilan, the police reported Tuesday.

The Basilan Police Provincial Office (BPPO) said the incident took place around noontime Monday in the village of Switch Yakal, Lantawan, Basilan province.

The victims were identified as Pablo Guerrero, his wife Teresa, and granddaughter Trixie.

Investigation showed that the family was inside their residence when the suspects barged in and clubbed them to death.

Police said the gunmen carted away the victims’ valuables and fled.

The victims, who were from Boalan village, were visiting their farm and had arrived in Lantawan, Basilan.

The police have launched manhunt operations in a bid to arrest the suspects, whose identities were withheld by authorities. (Sunnex)
