Bomb threat prompts Ateneo de Manila to suspend classes, work

MANILA (Updated 2:40 p.m.) -- Classes and office work at the Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) were suspended Wednesday due to a reported bomb threat.

Sonia Araneta, ADMU Corporate Communications director, said three employees of the university received text messages regarding a bomb threat around 9 a.m.

"All Ateneo classes and office work suspended due to bomb threat. PNP (Philippine National Police) units now sweeping the campus," the university’s official college paper, The Guidon, posted on Twitter.

As of 2:30 p.m., all dormitory buildings were cleared for bomb threat, said Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Police Chief Superintendent Richard Albano. These areas include the male and female university dorms, Cervini building and Eliazo building.
