MANILA -- A total of 160 passengers were rescued on Friday morning after a fast craft ran aground off Lauis Ledge in Talisay City, Cebu Thursday evening.

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Public Affairs Chief Commander Armando Balilo said M/V Weesam-7 accidentally hit the sea floor while supposedly on its way to Cebu Port terminal from Ormoc City in Leyte.

Balilo said the Cebu Coast Guard and the vessel's sister ship M/V Weesam Express-8 have successfully evacuated all the passengers around 8 a.m. Friday.
