The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) placed six areas in Mindanao under Public Storm Warning Signal Number 1 on Sunday as Tropical Depression Agaton (TD Agaton) maintained its strength.

These areas include:
-Surigao del Sur
-Agusan del Norte

At 10:00 a.m. today, the center of Tropical Depression Agaton was estimated based on all available data at 205 kilometers (km) Southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur or at 230 km East of Davao City

Pagasa said, the cyclone is forecast to move south southwest at 7 kph.

"Tropical Depression Agaton is expected to be at 120 km Southeast of Davao City Monday morning and at 60 km South of General Santos City by Tuesday morning. By Wednesday morning, it is expected to be at 220 km Southwest of General Santos City or out of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR)," said Pagasa.

Agaton is expected to bring moderate to heavy rain within its 300 km diameter.

Meanwhile, it will also bring moderate to occasionally heavy rain and thunderstorms over Visayas. Pagasa warned that sea travel is risky over the seaboards of Luzon and Visayas.

In its 5 a.m. bulletin, Pagasa said that Caraga and the provinces of Davao Oriental and Compostela Valley will be rainy with gusty winds and moderate to rough seas.

"Visayas, the rest of Davao and northern Mindanao will experience cloudy skies with moderate to occasionally heavy rain and thunderstorms which may trigger flashfloods and landslides," said Pagasa.

It added, "Bicol region will be cloudy with light to moderate rain and thunderstorms."

The state bureau also said that Palawan and the rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms. Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will be partly cloudy to cloudy with light rain. (SFP/Sunnex)
