CEBU -- The annual fluvial procession kicked off from St. Joseph Parish Church in Mandaue City to Basilica Minore de Sto. Niño Saturday dawn.

Compared to last year's procession, the organizers this year decided to take a shorter route. From the St. Joseph Parish in Mandaue City, the procession passed through S.B. Cabahug St., A. Soriano Avenue, J.M. Ceniza, then to Ouano wharf, where the galleon-like motorized boat with ornamented flowers docked.

The foot procession continued in Cebu City after the image of Senyor Santo Niño arrived at Cebu Port area and transported to Basilica's Pilgrim Center where the re-enactment of the first Holy Mass in the province was held.

In his homily, Basilica rector Fr. Jonas Mejares lauded anew the Cebuano devotees' faith amidst the bad weather condition. He also sang the infamous "Magellan" song, earning cheers from the crowd.
